Design for Lila Lenker

 

For many women, cycling is not a given—especially in poorly connected neighborhoods like Leipzig-Grünau, home to a large population of women with migration backgrounds.

Through the "Lila Lenker" initiative, women learn to ride from other women in a relaxed setting and a safe, feminist space, enabling greater mobility and independence within the city.

Alongside genuine empowerment, the focus is on having fun! ​ To meet the women right where they are, the training sessions take place on the roof of the local shopping center. Promotional efforts utilize a variety of channels: flyers at key locations in the neighborhood, social media posts, and animated posters on the advertising screens at the Allee Center Grünau.

 

The design features a cohesive visual style that is fun without appearing childish; the use of icons and expressive illustrations ensures the message is easily understood, even by non-native speakers.
