Lucie Nichelmann

I am an illustrator and animator with a BA in Communication Design. Since 2019, I have been working freelance, creating illustrations, drawings, and animations for publishers, animation studios, institutions, and individual clients. My focus is on environmental illustration and animation.

 

Through my studies at ESAAIX Aix-En-Provence (Fine Arts), Burg Giebichenstein University of Art and Design Halle (Communication Design and guest semester Multimedia/VR Design) and HEAR Strasbourg (Illustration) I have a broad background.

 

Previously, I gained experience in various cultural institutions, for example at the Museum of Natural History in Berlin or the Vol de Nuits photo gallery in Marseille.

 

Stylistically, vibrant colors and analog textures play a central role in my work.

 

My work focuses on environmental issues and insects , as well as presenting complex topics in easily understandable images. From picture books and animated explanations to interactive nature trail elements, I love exploring new, cross-media forms of environmental education.

 

My great passion is animation and sensitive stories for children . As a graduate of the tp2 Talentpool development program, the Golden Sparrow Talent Lab, and the StopMo Camp in Amsterdam, I am constantly developing my skills as an animator and director. I am committed to artistic animation. In 2024, I was invited to serve as a jury member for the Kurzsuechtig Film Festival .

 

Every project is different. I use my extensive experience in analog and digital techniques to create fresh, multimedia design solutions for clients that perfectly match their project.
